SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. – UTC Power, a United Technologies Corp. company, announced that it has acquired Dome-Tech Group, a national energy consulting firm based in Edison, N.J., and New York City. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Dome-Tech’s services include optimizing building system performance to reduce energy costs and improve overall efficiency. It facilitates green, sustainable construction, energy and carbon footprint reduction, smart energy procurement practices, and project development services. Customers include major pharmaceutical and industrial companies, large utilities, educational institutions, health care firms, and retail businesses.
According to Ken Fox, UTC Power’s vice president of on-site power, “Dome-Tech is a very good strategic fit for us. Its capabilities complement UTC Power and will enable us to further reduce our customer’s energy costs and carbon footprint. Combining Dome-Tech’s broad range of energy optimization services with UTC Power’s energy-efficient, environmentally advanced products will create a full-service energy consulting capability that does not exist in the marketplace today. We expect to grow to meet the rapidly expanding need for this unique service platform.”

Charles Braunstein
CEO and Founder
Charles Braunstein is the CEO and Founder of CB Energy Business Consulting where he applies his decades of industry experience to help business owners grow their business and achieve successful exits through sell-side M&A transactions. Charles leads all aspects of the firm from business consulting advisory to M&A deal sourcing and negotiations.
Charles started CB Energy Business Consulting in order to leverage his own personal experiences and provide a higher level of service to business owners through consulting and M&A. Prior to founding CB Energy Business Consulting Charles was the Co-Founder of Dome Tech, an engineering consulting company focused on state-of-the-art energy services. Charles sold the solar energy division of the business to Ted Turner in 2007 (eight months later sold to First Solar) and sold the consulting practice to United Technologies (UTC) soon after. At UTC, Charles led the energy consulting division and spearheaded several nationwide acquisitions that fell under his control. Before Co-Founding Dome Tech, Charles began his career as an engineer in the prestigious management program for Con Edison where he honed his craft in operations and performance that enabled him to start his energy engineering consulting career.
Charles is a New Jersey native who enjoys spending his summers on Long Beach Island and enjoying the West Coast of Florida during the wintertime. Charles is a graduate of the State University of New York Maritime College where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree. As a Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP), and LEED Certified Charles has extensive qualification and accolades.
Justin Staeck
Vice President of Business Development
Justin Staeck is the Vice President of Business Development at CB Energy Business Consulting where he leverages his diverse global experience and expertise in M&A and strategy to help clients achieve their growth and value goals.
Justin specializes in company valuation, acquisition support, brand development, and sales strategy for energy businesses across HVAC, automation, energy efficiency, renewables, construction, and facility maintenance. Prior to joining CB Energy, Justin honed his skills in the building automation space, working for a local NYC system integrator, RGBS (Now a part of Climatec). Before that he gained valuable experience working as an energy efficiency consultant for FirstService Energy, the energy efficiency division of the national residential property management conglomerate.
Now a true NYC native, Justin spends his free time indulging his love of travel, scuba diving, and staying active. Justin is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with a degree in the Environment and Sustainability. Justin has also completed intensive energy auditing training courses in NYC prior to beginning his journey in the energy and business consulting space.
Nolan Madden
M&A Analyst
Nolan Madden is an M&A Analyst with CB Energy Business Consulting focused on working with business owners in the energy, construction, and facility services sectors. Focused on sell-side M&A transactions, Nolan stays true to the CB Energy method of working hands on with all aspects of transactions and clients’ business needs from deal readiness to, marketing materials, financial modeling, strategy, negotiations, due-diligence and more. Additionally, Nolan works directly with business owners and the financial teams in order to strengthen, analyze, and project the financial health and function of the organization.
A New Jersey native who enjoys spending summers at the Jersey Shore, Nolan grew up in Colts Neck, NJ and currently resides in Hoboken, NJ. Nolan is a graduate of The George Washington University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), magna cum laude, with concentrations in Finance and Real Estate as well as a minor in geography.
